Tool Bar Reference

In this example we will use CorrectPhoto's Cropping tool and OneClick Color Correction Features.

Step 1. Open Picture

First, select the photo from My Pictures folder using CorrectPhoto's built-in Windows Explorer.

Or, if you are using the new Vista Photo Gallery you can Right Click on the thumbnail and OPEN WITH CorrectPhoto.

Note: You can save the final corrected picture in the same folder or using File/Save As to put it into another folder.  If this is the first picture you correct and save the Auto Archive feature will ask you if you want to archive the original file.  It is a good idea to archive your original shots for future reference.

Step 2. Crop Picture

With CorrectPhoto, you can crop to specific print sizes like 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, etc.  Two, you can turn an average snapshot into a more meaningful portrait by zeroing in on the important elements and leaving out the rest.

Select 5x7 Portrait Cropping Format

Grab the black squares to change the size of the crop window and position the curser inside the box with the left mouse button depressed and you can move the crop window. When you are satisfied click the Apply button on the tool bar. (Note: The cropped picture is automatically rezed up to maintain high print resolution)

Step 3. OneClick Color Correction

CorrectPhoto's unique OneClick color correction is automatically activated when you apply the crop.  Move the curser over the image and click on one or more neutral areas (white, grey or black). In this photo we clicked on the white cuffs and the grey block. Normally, that is all you have to do.

If you think adjusting the brightness, contrast or saturation would be beneficial simply click on the color icon on the tool bar and follow the instructions.

Step 4. Save the GreatShot

Save the final picture by either clicking on the little floppy icon on the tool bar or the File/Save As on the file menu.

Note the other functions under the File Menu which are designed to help you create and organize a final set of GreatShots of your event or trip.

The final picture is 1855 x 2592 pixels resulting in a great 4x6 print. We uploaded it to Sam's Club Online Prints and picked up the print at our local  Sam's club.

Step 5. Title the Photo with ImageTitler

Right Click on the photo to be titled and Open With ImageTitler

Select the Font, Color and enter the text in the text box.  Use the simple text size, position, and alignment tools to position the title. Save the titled photo using the Save Image function.
